The Next Steps for Sligo Miniature World
The coming months will be important for Sligo Miniature World, as we intend to bring the ongoing discussions about the project’s ultimate location to a conclusion.
Our display at its current location will come to an end on 15 December 2026. Discussions are already underway regarding our continued presence in Sligo town before the necessary agreements are reached for the project’s proposed permanent home at the old railway depot on the CIÉ site at Ballast Quay in Sligo. A meeting next week with the Tourism Officer of Sligo County Council should bring greater clarity to this process. There are still many discussions and details to conclude, and we will be providing updates as progress is made.
In the meantime, please enjoy this short video capturing the magic of creation. It shows just one brief stage in the construction of the station on our display. The station is still a work in progress, but the transformation is clearly visible.
