When Technology Needs a Backup Plan

While our trains will soon be operated through digital DCC (Digital Command Control), we are also developing something less visible - but just as important.

In any railway, whether full-scale or miniature, relying on a single system is never enough. Interruptions or unexpected stops can happen. The question is not if, but how to respond when they do.

To address this, we are currently working on a relay-based backup designed to support continuous and safe train operation. Its role is simple in principle: to prevent collisions and allow trains to keep moving smoothly, even if the main computer is interrupted.

This solution is being developed and assembled in-house, with work focused on relay configuration and testing the logic behind it.

It’s another step forward in building not just a display - but a miniature transport network designed to operate with consistency, realism, and resilience.

Follow the journey.
